Berkshire Pork Sales
Exceptional Taste, Premium Quality
Enjoy affordable premium pork from our family farm to your family's table.
The price for a whole pig is approx. $576 based on $1.80/lb with a hanging weight at the butcher of 200 lbs and $216 for butchering (cutting & vacuum packaging). The final price is approx. $3.60/lb of retail cuts with a typical yield of about 160 lbs of pork. All prices are approximate as hanging weights can vary from 180 lbs to 230 lbs and cutting choices can affect yield. With the whole pigs and half pigs the butcher can cut and package to your specifications or you can let us know that you would like standard cuts and choose what sausages you would like. A whole pig is about five to six cubic-feet depending on packing and oddments choices. For reference, a milk crate is about one cubic-foot. Bulk sausage is available in the following flavors: Unseasoned, Mild Italian, Hot Italian and Breakfast.
Brats, linked sausage, hot dogs, smoked bacon, brined and smoked ham, are an additional charge if you would like any of these options.

Feeder Pigs and Roaster Pigs
A pig roast is a fun and delicious way to enjoy Berkshire pork. You can choose a large roaster pig for an outdoor BBQ, a smaller pig for indoor roasting, or any size in between. Availability varies throughout the year, so call today to ensure you have the perfect size roaster pig for your event.
Feeder pigs are a great way to raise your own pork and are a great 4-H project. Availability varies throughout the year, so please contact us if you are interested in raising your own feeder pig.
The price for a half pig is approx. $308 for 80 lbs of pork – about three cubic-feet. All the options for custom cutting and packaging, sausage, smoked bacon, and brined and smoked ham from the whole pig description above apply. We recommend finding a friend to share a single whole pig order to get the best price. You call in one set of cutting instructions and get a big savings when you share.

You Asked, We Answered
What is the purchasing process?
We ask that each customer pay a deposit to reserve their pig. (Applied to the final purchase price) We will then set a locker appointment at the locker of your choosing and notify you when the date is set. On the processing date we will deliver your pig to the locker and you will call in to the locker and give them your custom cutting and packaging instructions. The locker will provide you and us with the hanging weight of the pig and at this time the balance for the purchase price of the pig is due to KD Berkshire Pork. When your meat is ready for pick up (1 to 3 weeks later) the locker will call you and you can go get your pork! At the time of pick up you will pay the locker.
When can I purchase a pig?
Anytime! We take reservations year round and you will receive the next available pig. Our pigs reach market weight in the spring (around March or April) and in the late fall (October - November). This timing works best for the pigs. Since our pigs farrow outdoors or in an unheated building we try to time each litter to be born in either the spring or the fall.
What lockers do you use?
There are two very good USDA lockers located near us that we prefer to use for processing our pigs. Blair Meat Market is located in Blair, Ne and ASC Lockers located in West Point, Ne. Both do great work and we have never been disappointed with the meat we have received back from these lockers. If you are purchasing a whole pig we can deliver your pig to a different locker but there may be an additional delivery charge.
